Mi chiamo Giò Baxter e non scrivo per piacere a tutti.
Scrivo per dire quello che penso vada detto. Per mettere nero su bianco i pensieri che molte tengono nel cassetto. Quelli scomodi. Quelli necessari. Sono una scrittrice e drammaturga iscritta SIAE, con una laurea DAMS e quindici anni passati a giocare con le parole. Ho pubblicato con Giulio Perrone Editore e su Amazon Kindle. Ho studiato a Parigi perché credevo che cambiare aria aiutasse a vedere meglio. Avevo ragione.
My name is Giò Baxter and I don’t write to please everyone.
I write to say what I think needs to be said. To put down on paper the thoughts that many keep hidden away. The uncomfortable ones. The necessary ones. I am a writer and playwright registered with SIAE, with a degree in DAMS and fifteen years spent playing with words. I have published with Giulio Perrone Editore and on Amazon Kindle. I studied in Paris because I believed that a change of scenery would help me see things more clearly. I was right.

Blog Baxter nasce da un’esigenza semplice: creare uno spazio dove poter parlare di temi sociali, attualità e vita quotidiana dal punto di vista femminile, senza dover addolcire la pillola. Senza dover fingere che vada tutto bene quando non va. Senza dover scegliere tra essere intelligente ed essere accessibile.
Qui scrivo di quello che ci attraversa come donne, come persone, come esseri umani che cercano di stare al mondo senza perdere la bussola. Scrivo di attualità con il mio sguardo. Di riflessioni personali che forse riconoscerai. Del mestiere di scrivere, con tutto quello che comporta. Di cultura, libri, e delle cose che vale la pena leggere.
I don’t seek approval. I seek honesty.
Blog Baxter was born out of a simple need: to create a space where I could talk about social issues, current affairs and everyday life from a female perspective, without having to sugarcoat things. Without having to pretend that everything is fine when it’s not. Without having to choose between being intelligent and being accessible.
Here I write about what we go through as women, as people, as human beings trying to navigate the world without losing our way. I write about current affairs from my perspective. About personal reflections that you may recognise. About the craft of writing, with all that it entails. About culture, books, and things worth reading.
