Ho fatto fare a Claude una ricerca dei diritti delle donne, inizialmente avrei voluto elencare i vari diritti dei quali oggi godiamo, che donne coraggiose ci hanno lasciato, combattendo nel passato. Mi stavo documentando e alla fine, è stato molto triste constatare quanta lotta per delle cose che dovrebbero essere normali, che invece ahimè abbiamo reclamato con la forza e le urla, e all’inizio anche con la morte, ottenendoli su carta i nostri cari e bei diritti.
Li abbiamo ottenuti su carta perché oggi ancora c’è discriminazione per tutto quello che riguarda la vita della donna in società. È ancora tristemente normale alzare la voce con una donna, atteggiamenti arroganti e ambigui nel mondo del lavoro, subiti sia come collega, che come cliente. Pazzesco.
È stato impressionante leggere alcune date alquanto recenti, in cui le donne iniziavano ad accedere ad alcuni tipi di lavoro, ad esempio: 1981 Donne ammesse in Polizia; 1999 Donne ammesse nelle Forze Armate; 2011 Quote rosa per amministratori delle società quotate.
È ancora così tutto recente, che è come se noi donne dovessimo essere le prime ad abituarci a questi diritti. Ed è rammaricante che tutto quello che abbiamo ottenuto sia rilegato al diritto di essere libere, di essere amate e rispettate, di restare in vita, di non essere molestate o perseguitate.
L’unico diritto positivo è quello del voto, che è stato raggiunto nel 1946 per il referendum per la Repubblica, poi un bollettino di guerra. 1970 Legge sul divorzio (legge 898), confermata dal referendum del 1974; 1975 Riforma del diritto di famiglia (uguaglianza tra coniugi) Dio Santo!! 1978 Legge 194 sull’interruzione volontaria di gravidanza.
Forse sono una donna che è nata in una società dove le fondamenta della libertà erano state gettate, e quindi non riesco a comprendere come vivevano quelle donne del passato, per farle scendere in piazza, smosso la politica ed ottenuto quei diritti, che ad oggi ci sembrano normali.
Volevo scrivere questo articolo per risvegliare le coscienze sulla Legge 194, perché chiamarlo diritto o passarlo come gesto di emancipazione è stata la più grande fregatura data alle donne, anche più grande del credere che per piacere bisognava avere il culo alto e una quinta di seno; anche più grande del credere che avere le labbra a canotto e il volto omologato dal botox era bellezza; anche più grande del credere a questa eterna giovinezza che non accetta il passare del tempo.
Avrei voluto concentrare l’articolo su questo, ma la ricerca di Claude mi ha spiazzata. Ovviamente non sto accettando il diritto all’aborto, anzi da donna del 2026 penso che nemmeno dovremmo più arrivare a questa soluzione, visto che ci sono più di una dozzina di modi per non avere gravidanze indesiderate, e il libero accesso per ottenerli. Visto che almeno in questo siamo donne libere, perché non giocare d’anticipo, evitiamo di arrivare a quella operazione, che lascia il segno su tutti, su chi la subisce e su chi la pratica.
Ovviamente anche se non approvo il diritto all’aborto, reputo che è meglio che tale operazione sia stata legalizzata, perché essere in una brutta situazione come quella e non essere tutelati dalla Legge sarebbe anche peggio, come il passato ci ha dimostrato. Ma con altrettanta franchezza sorelle mie vi esorto a vivere a pieno questa vita da donne libere quali siamo, e di essere donne veramente emancipate, utilizzando metodi contraccettivi e ancor prima la testa.
DON’T CALL THEM RIGHTS
I asked Claude to do some research on women’s rights. Initially, I wanted to list the various rights we enjoy today, which courageous women have left us, fighting in the past. I was doing my research and, in the end, it was very sad to see how much we had to fight for things that should be normal, but which, alas, we had to claim with force and shouting, and at the beginning even with death, to obtain our dear and beautiful rights on paper.
We obtained them on paper because today there is still discrimination in everything that concerns women’s lives in society. It is still sadly normal to raise one’s voice at a woman, to behave arrogantly and ambiguously in the workplace, whether as a colleague or a customer. It’s crazy.
It was striking to read some recent dates when women began to gain access to certain types of work, for example: 1981 Women admitted to the police force; 1999 Women admitted to the armed forces; 2011 Gender quotas for directors of listed companies.
It is still so recent that, it is as if we women have to be the first to get used to these rights. And it is regrettable that all we have achieved is relegated to the right to be free, to be loved and respected, to stay alive, not to be harassed or persecuted.
The only positive right is the right to vote, which was achieved in 1946 for the referendum on the Republic, then a war bulletin. 1970 Divorce law (Law 898), confirmed by the 1974 referendum; 1975 Reform of family law (equality between spouses) Good heavens! 1978 Law 194 on voluntary termination of pregnancy.
Perhaps I am a woman who was born into a society where the foundations of freedom had already been laid, and so I cannot understand how those women of the past lived, to take to the streets, shake up politics and obtain those rights that today seem normal to us.
I wanted to write this article to raise awareness about Law 194, because calling it a right or passing it off as a gesture of emancipation was the biggest rip-off ever perpetrated on women, even bigger than believing that to be attractive you had to have a pert bum and size 5 breasts; even greater than believing that having pouty lips and a Botox-approved face was beauty; even greater than believing in this eternal youth that does not accept the passing of time.
I wanted to focus the article on this, but Claude’s research took me by surprise. Obviously, I am not accepting the right to abortion. In fact, as a woman of 2026, I think we should no longer have to resort to this solution, given that there are more than a dozen ways to avoid unwanted pregnancies, and free access to them. Since we are free women in this respect at least, why not take preventive action and avoid resorting to this operation, which leaves its mark on everyone, both those who undergo it and those who perform it?
Obviously, even though I do not approve of the right to abortion, I believe it is better that this operation has been legalised, because being in such a bad situation and not being protected by the law would be even worse, as the past has shown us. But with equal frankness, my sisters, I urge you to live this life to the full as the free women we are, and to be truly emancipated women, using contraception and, even more importantly, your heads.
