That’s it!
EVERYONE UNDER THE SAME SKY EXCEPT HER
When do we feel betrayed? When someone has promised us something but then was unwilling or unable to keep that promise. In short, in some way, when our expectations or agreements have been let down. And today, of course, there is controversy surrounding the much-vaunted inclusivity that, years ago, was presented to us as a political and social philosophy superior to anything that had come before. A way of living in society based on values of equality and mutual respect.
It’s a shame, though, that it didn’t take many years to realise that this concept isn’t deeply rooted in the human heart.
And even the champions of inclusivity – since they, too, are human – have preferred the well-trodden path, which I’ll summarise in this sentence: for me to exist, you cannot exist. That’s it!
I don’t know if you’ve noticed it too, but society has changed so much over the last twenty years or so; we’re no longer free to express our thoughts, especially when it comes to certain gender-related topics. But weren’t you the ones talking about inclusivity and freedom? I remember that initially it was because otherwise various groups of people would take offence, whereas in recent years it’s better not to touch on certain topics because it’s dangerous. I’ve already discussed this in this article.
And the fairy tale of inclusivity has been exposed, judging by the way women have been treated in their social roles. Do you realise that we’re now just incubators? And that they keep hammering the message into our heads that it’s our right? Are we going to wake up?
We’re always very careful when it comes to the subject of rights. I’m forty years old and was born and brought up in a democratic country, and it goes without saying that I obviously don’t know what it’s like to live under a dictatorship. All I have of dictatorships are stories from people of the past and from a few peers who left their homeland to live freely. So, when it comes to the subject of rights, we should discuss it with great care and respect, and above all be reasonable people with common sense – an attitude that many have lost over the years.
To open and close this digression: we’re always talking about ‘rights’, but what about ‘duties’? The Italian Constitution also goes into great detail about duties… yet I never hear anyone mention them.
But let’s return to what interests us here on the Baxter Blog: women in society. It requires a bit of observational skill, an open mind, and having read a few good books from the past. Because every political group that rises up in the name of a new social evolution isn’t doing anything new, not even the slogan: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” And, of course, creating a common enemy, because, as we know, hatred unites far more than kindness. In Orwell’s *Animal Farm*, the enemy was called Jones; in recent years, we’ve been given more than a few names to hate.
In short, we all know quite a bit about how the masses work these days; you certainly don’t need to be a genius. It’s a film we’ve seen before, a sort of *The Bold and the Beautiful* that still carries on with the usual family intrigues, to which they’ve had to give new faces because the actors had grown too old. But how many episodes have they reached? As I no longer watch TV, I don’t know if it’s still on, but I remember that the big jaw Ridge wasn’t the same that he’d started out as; they changed the actor, but the character is timeless. And politics is much the same, along with the whole social revolution they’re always trying to foist on us as better than the past, claiming it will set us free and keep us safe from Jones.
My dear friends, let’s always be wary of revolutionary pigs; let’s read a few more books and try to think for ourselves, without getting swept up in any ideology – not even those disguised as false myths. Because the farm changes, but the pigs remain.
